Formula Student

These are prestigious international engineering competitions in which students from around the world design and build race cars, then compete in seven events. The competition is divided into static events, which focus on evaluating the design, team preparation, and cost efficiency, and dynamic events, which take place on the track and test the vehicle’s performance in practice. The primary goal of Formula Student is to develop technical skills, project management abilities, and prepare students for challenges in the automotive industry.

Dynamic Events

Dynamic events are a part of the Formula Student competition where teams compete on the track to test the performance, reliability, and capabilities of their cars.

Acceleration

It tests how quickly the race car can achieve maximum acceleration on a straight section of the track. The track length is typically 75 meters, and the final result is the time required to complete the distance.

Skidpad

In this event, cars must navigate a figure-eight track, requiring drivers to maintain good vehicle control. It allows for measuring the car's ability to efficiently handle corners and change direction, testing its agility and suspension system.

Autocross

It is a single lap of the track that tests maneuverability, acceleration, and the car's ability to navigate a technical course in the shortest possible time.

Endurance

The main race is a 22 km track event, set up similarly to the Autocross competition. Two drivers, switching at the halfway point, must deliver a fully functional car to the finish line as quickly as possible. The goal is to test not only speed but also the vehicle's reliability, durability, and efficiency over a long distance. Teams must also manage fuel and battery consumption effectively, as limited resources must last for the entire course.

Static Events

The static events in the Formula Student competition focus on presenting the race car's design from an engineering perspective. The task is not only to build a fast car but also to demonstrate the ability to plan, manage financial resources, and develop a marketing strategy.

Engineering design

In this event, teams must present their design solutions, demonstrating engineering knowledge and technical analysis skills. Judges evaluate the design decisions made, the analyses conducted, and the rationale behind specific solutions. This requires not only practical expertise but also the ability to explain and justify design choices effectively.

Cost&Manufacturing

Building a race car involves significant costs, and teams must demonstrate their financial awareness. The competition evaluates the expenses associated with the car's production, the materials used, the manufacturing processes applied, and the overall project costs. This assessment helps determine whether teams had realistic budget assumptions and effectively managed production costs.

Business Plan Presentation

The task is not only to build a fast car but also to demonstrate planning skills, financial resource management, and marketing strategy. In this event, teams must develop an innovative business concept based on the competition race car and present it to potential investors.
